Dec. 1st, 2003 10:58 pmWell, I guess it's about time for me to report on MFF and the following week and whatnot. Sorry for the delay, but you know how it goes.
As most of you know now, I had planned on attending MFF as my female self... and that is just what I did. I left home Thursday morning, stopping at the mall here to get my nails all fixed up prettily. That really seems to help my self image... so much so that I have decided to keep them long now all of the time, even at work. And if anyone says anything to me about that, too bad. I arrived at the con hotel about 1:30 in the afternoon, and got my room right away, surprisingly. Moved my stuff in and then came down to the lobby to see who was around. Ran into Dex, White Wolf, and Red Fox right away and hung out with them for a while. Got a few intersting looks from folks, but that was to be expected. Saw KT when he arrived shortly after, and then Jugular. Several more furs arrived, and I started to receive compliments on my appearance, which of course made me feel good. The day just got better and better. And then someone actually took a pic of me with Quasi and Teddy Tiger.
Pic of the new improved vixen!
My roommates finally arrived, minus MaxSkunk, who's flight was delayed a bit. Kodiak went to Ohare to get him, and somehow got lost on the way back, but they finally made it, but by that point, I had been kidnapped to work on the final version of the "Raccoon Song Remix" that is now famous... or at least infamous.
Here it is if you care to take a listen.
Friday was mostly involved with meeting friends and then later, rehearsal for the Furry Variety Show. Earlier in the day, I took Nikon Raccoon out for her first outing as a female to Woodfield Mall. I thought she looked pretty good, as did myself. I don't remember anyone saying anything that they suspected we were not real females... so that was a good thing.
Saturday started with the first of two puppet shows for me, and then panels, panels, and more panels. Now, getting to bed at 4 AM and then gettting up at 8 AM just plain sucks. I was so tired I actually fell asleep during one panel I was on... not a good thing. I didn't even make it to the last one... I was taking a well deserved nap. Then, I had to get ready for the dance. I had sold a chance to dance with me in the charity auction... though I must admit, I was disappointed in the amount raised. Next year, I'll make a point to be there when it is auctioned if I do that again. Met up with the winning bidder, and we had fun. I think I really surprised a few people with my pigtails and schoolgirl dress though... not really my style I guess, but I liked my hair that way. Hung out in the con suite later on.... showed Quasi my new "Pretty Flower" tshirt.... of course he hated it. Got to bed about 1 AM that night.
Sometime on Saturday, Babs Bunny drew this for me. School Girl Butterscotch I think it's as neat as can be. I do want to get her to color it for me someday however.
Sunday was more puppet show, and then closing ceremonies. Afterward, I went to dinner with 12 other furs... and that was an awesome experience. I won't go into what all happened there... but it was very memorable.
Monday, I took MaxSkunk back to the airport and then came home... which sucked... I wish cons could last more than 3 or 4 days. Had to work then on Tuesday and Wednesday... not too bad. Thursday, I went to my Mom's for Thanksgiving. That was yummy, but I had one issue hanging over my head all day. I wanted to tell her my plans for the future. Finally got the chance after everyone else had left. I told her that once I move, I plan to start living as a female full time as soon as I can... and to go back on hormones, and eventually I will most likely go into therapy to work towards my SRS. She just doesn't seem to understand why I feel I need to do all of this... which I expected. It is not easy to explain things to her.... and she will never accept me as a female... but it's my life and I have to live to make myself happy. And I will, never fear.
This past weekend also involved my return to Glen Ellyn, and a massive shopping day on Friday with Wyldekyttin and Misti. I swear... when did I turn into a packhorse? *grins* It was fun though. I got a new outfit and two pairs of shoes. Had a nice day Saturday also with Kyttin and Crim. Sunday we worked some on my new room and getting the storage area cleaned up so I can start to move my stuff in next weekend.
Now, some know and some don't... but next Sunday, Dec. 7th is my 38th birthday. Usually, I hate my birthday. My Dad died the day after my birthday 6 years ago, and since then, I've dreaded this time of year. But this year, I'm actually looking forward to it... as this will hopefully be the beginning of a brand new life for me. My female self wants out so badly anymore. It's hard having to be a guy at work and only being a girl on the weekends right now. But I'll survive for now, and keep looking for a new job once I get moved.
And for your information, I have decided on a new female name for myself. My name will be Susan Fox. No more will I be Michael Moore.... I've always hated that name anyway. So, please, from now on, if you do happen to see me RL... use the female pronouns when refering to me... and please, do not call me Mike either. Ok? Thanks!
More to come soon. And if anyone has any pics of me at MFF, please share?
