Antique.......
Dec. 6th, 2003 09:25 amThat is what I will be tomorrow.... the ripe old age of 38. Wow... who'd have ever thought I'd make it this long? Makes on think of all the wasted opportunities and chances to make changes and improvements gone by now.... and at times I will admit that I do have some regrets on things not done in the past, or friendships lost due to circumstances that occured. But, overall, I am pretty happy with my life. Yes, there are a few details that need to be changed, but soon those will make themselves not an issue any more. So all in all, my life is going so much better for me now than it was 2 years ago, or even last year. Wow. I think back on where I was a year ago today... and in some ways it scares me, and in others it shows me how far I have come in improving my situation in the past year.
38 is not really that old, when you stop to think about it. Maybe it seems that way at times, but then, how could I compare it to say, 45 years? I have no real frame of reference. Age and time are relative concepts.... I think we make ourselves feel as old as we want to be in some fashion.
So, what's going on with me you ask? Well, Kyttin and Crim are having a small party for me tomorrow here, with a few close friends coming by. That should be fun, and it will give me the change to "girl out" again, which I haven't been able to do totally since MFF. Oh, not that I'm not partly girl now all of the time, but it's kind of hard when I'm still living in LaSalle on weeknights. 3 weeks until I move... then the real adventure begins.
Speaking of adventures... I received word yesterday that I will FINALLY be hired on permantly at Cougar Industries... but not until Jan. 1st. Which is all fine and dandy... but because they are waiting until then, I miss out on 4 days of paid holidays. Which sucks! Oh, they offered me a $.50 raise effective immediately, to "help me get by until then." Oh boy! A whole $20 extra a week. That will buy me at least 1 tank of gas and a 12 pack of soda... but come on... this is the big bucks? Sheesh! Once I move, I will be driving 90 miles each way to work every day. I can only wonder how long that will last in reality. Oh trust me, I'm thankful for a full time job with benefits... but I'm not totally thrilled with that commute. But we shall see, as I intend to stay working there until such time as a better job comes available to me more locally. Ok, enough whining from the vixen today.
I've been talking with a couple of friends online lately about TG stuff too, getting word on Drs. and such.... but one thing I could use some help with is finding a local to Glen Ellyn area therapist and MD. I'm a few years away from needing a Dr. for SRS... but I do want to get into the therapy end of things and get back on hormones as soon as possible. So if anyone in the western suburbs knows of someone, please let me know. Thanks!
Vixen is off to get something accomplished today... dog knows what it will be however. I'm sure it will be interesting though. Bored vixens get into all sorts of interesting trouble... and we wouldn't want that now would we..... *grins wickedly*
