First off... I have a new job! Starting either Friday or Monday, depending on when the company gets my drug screen results back. Seems silly... I just had to do one of those back in February... but I guess companies are really and honestly concerned about such things. Of course, I have never done any drugs, other than smoking a little bit of pot one time with my sister, when my dad died... it seemed to help me to calm down at the time. But I would NEVER do that again. Anyway, I'll be doing product inspection at a place that manufactures plastic containers for food and medicine packaging. Sounds kind of boring... but it's a job. I also had an interview at Home Depot for a cashier's position yesterday... hoping that works out, as I'd rather work in a place like that. The good thing about this new job is that it's first shift, M-F... the bad thing it only pays $6.50/hr.
Been chatting on IRC a bit more than usual for me lately. I still feel a little out of place though... like I not a part of the group... but it's fun for me still. I really wish I knew some of the east coast furs better. I only get to see them usually at cons. Maybe that's one reason I'm really looking forward to AC this year. I love furry cons! I know some people say AC is too big... but to me, it's still fun. Of course, MFM is my home con, the one where I really learned just how close my furry family can be to me. MFF was great too, and I'm looking forward to that again of course. Heck, where else can I get to hang out with my friends and not be more than 2 hours from home?
Seems like Spring is flying by for me. I've been back in Illinois since Feb 8th... where does the time go? In less than a month it will be Pride Fest in St. Louis... I'm planning on being there if at all possible. Looking forward to the Pride Parade too. A bunch of us will be in the parade in fursuit... wonder how the crowd will react to my BSV fursuit? Last year, I only had the plain Dark Realms fox fursuit....
I've been chatting with a few friends via email lately too, in the last week or so. Finding myself learning more about a special friend too. This is very good for the both of us I feel. Nothing serious yet... but who knows where this may lead in the future. A vixen can dream, can't she?
Ok, I'm rambling now.... living here in central Illinois is nice in some ways, but still, it can be very lonely too. I went to Chicago last night with my friend Chris from where I used to work. He's not a fur... but he's interested in furry. He might even come to MFM this year now that I've been telling him all about furry and showing him certain "safe" web pages and such. It's fun teaching him about what most of us enjoy... without squicking him right off the batt too. So we may be seeing the birth of a new fur here.

Date: 2003-06-04 06:12 pm (UTC)I hope you show up more on IRC Furnet. I'm in there all the time while I'm awake so I'm usually there aslong as I don't have anything next to my nick (like WildfoxAWAY, WildfoxGAME, etc.) And I'm waiting for summer! I'm getting the usual Michigan spring low to mid 60s. It's pleasent, but I want it to be a little warmer. Even though I wouldn't mind seeing the 60s come back on June 14th when I get to suit up for a charity event at a mini-golf course!

Date: 2003-06-04 06:38 pm (UTC)MFM, however, is a different story. I AM going to that one, so count me in about that. I've already made a few promises to some of the big names about MFM, so if I don't attend, I'll be disappointing a lot of other Furs about my non-attendance.
I'm sure you showed the dude Furnpike, FurryMUCK, and

Those are probably the best sites that <I>I</I> can think of for new and beginning Furs. Either that, or LJ's own <user site="livejournal.com" comm="lifestylers"> community... that's a good source of information.
Chat at ya later!

Date: 2003-06-04 10:51 pm (UTC)You'll be the first fur I know of in IL, Just hadn't heard of anyone from there just yet :P. I'd ask if I could travel out there, but getting a quick look at my debit card statement, I think I'll stay firmly planted at the workplace a few dozen hours a week. Don't ask >.>
I thought you had a fur suit :>, mighta seen a pic of it in one of your yahoo groups, but I can't remember now...so it may not have even been you :p .
It's always good to talk to people :>, and in all honesty, getting to know them when you're online kinda keeps the commitment level down should things just not work out on a personal level :).
As for introducing people to fur, you'll have to update us on that :>. Good luck.

Actually, there are lots of furs in Illinois, and I'm finding more all the time. Of course most of them are in the Chicago area, but I know several downstate.
If you ever want to visit, you are more than welcome here. My place is not glamorous by a long shot, but it's free for you to visit as long as you want. Just let me know.
I agree with getting to know people online first, though in this case, I already do know the person I refered to. She's cute too... but time will tell on that issue.
And of course I'll keep everyone informed as to my friend's intro to furry.
*hugs*

Date: 2003-06-05 07:10 pm (UTC)thank you very much for the kind invite, but I'm afraid this birdy needs to stay planted on terra firma for a while >.>. My wonderfull roomy ran up my debit card a little much, so I have more bills than usuall to deal with right now. Might even have to cancel my trip to AC this year >.>, which means I'd miss Pink and Lore and everyone else I'd arranged to meet...not a good thing.
otherwise, thank you again :>.
