Right now, I'm sitting at the Love's truckstop in Aurora, Nebraska, on the way out to Santa Fe Springs, California. I've been doing a good pace today, 70 mph. Too bad I can only log myself at 65 MPH though, so creative logging comes into play again. Not sure where I'll be tonight... was wanting to make it to Denver, Colorado, but I think I'll run out of time before I can get that far.
Got some unexpected good news today from Arrow Trucking. Effective immediately, all drivers with less than one year of Over The Road (OTR) experience will receive a pay increase to $.32 per mile. That's up for me from $.28, and it will make a difference. This run for example is around 2750 miles total. I was due to go to $.32 on my 6 month anniversary date, being Nov. 3... but now I'll get it now and still get a $.04 raise on Nov. 3rd. WooHoo!!!!!
Plus they raised the tarping pay to $20 instead of $10. Still not enough, but better.
