Heya. I finally managed to get online to let everyone know what happened the other night.Yes, I am fine... but I am an emotional wreck.

What happened. I was travelling southbound on I-75 in Georgia, just south of Macon at about 8:15 PM. I was in the far right hand lane, going about 65 MPH. A small red car was in the middle lane of three, about 500 feet ahead of me or so. Suddenly, I saw smoke appear to come from under his car. I immediately started to slow down. It is very hard to slow down fast though. He started fishtailing around and then his back end skidded to the left and he was headed directly into my lane. I slammed on the brakes and the clutch as hard as I could but it made very little difference. I hit him broadside at at least 50 MPH, and pushed him in front of me for about 250 feet, before the impact caused me to skid off into the right hand ditch, with his car still caught on my front end. This ditch was about 6 feet deep, with very steep walls. I thought for sure I was going to flip and die then... but somehow the rig stayed upright, but ended up buried against the far side, with his car crushed between my tractor and the ditch. No explosions luckily... but damn... I thought for sure they were both dead in the car, as I had seen his girlfriend in the passenger seat an instant before I hit them. I called 911 immediately, and they took almost 3 minutes to answer. While waiting, I was a paniced mess... and I heard a guy in the car yelling for help. Another truck had stopped, and he was trying to keep me calm while trying to see if the other passenger was ok. The cops arrived in a few minutes and started to close the right hand lane, and to get them out. They had to almost rip the car in two with a jaws of life.... the guy seemed mostly ok somehow... but his girl was unresponsive, but alive. They took them in two ambulances... but he admitted before they left that it was his fault. I later found out he for some reason I wish I knew had pulled his parking brake lever.... I will never know why. I was taken for a mandatory blood test, which of course came back clear, thus freeing me from any fault thankfully. My poor tractor is most likely totalled though. Arrow finally arranged for me to get a rental car and assigned me to another tractor today... which is another story in itself.

I'll still be at MFM.

Yes, I know there is much other drama going on now that I am indirectly involved with... but I will not comment on that further until after MFM. Both here and RL.... don't even bring that up with me until after con.

Butter, shaken, but alive.
