Well, things are definitely turning around for the better for me. I turned in my application for permanent work today at Eakas, the place I work at through Manpower. I have had my supervisor, and three other supervisors that I deal with there all tell me that they have put in letters of recommendation for me to be hired on as Stores Supervisor, which means if I am hired, I'll be in charge of the department I'm currently working in. Which seems to make sense. I mean, for the last 3 weeks, we have been tearing apart all of the storage shelves, replacing them with roller shelving and reorganizing and restocking the multitude of parts that the company imports for use in manufacturing the pieces they ship to the import car plants. I'm the only one involved who has a clue what is going where and where the parts are stored for now. Makes me feel great that I'm so well thought of there. I'm not bragging either. I have been searching for a good job for over 9 months now, so I hope this does come together for me soon.

Also, I finally have found a replacement vehical. I'll be purchasing a 91 Mazda 626 from a friend that I used to hang around with back when I lived in Eureka. My mom is loaning the money to me and I'll be paying her back, as I didn't have the cash available to me all at once. If my old Escort would hold together, I could have waited, but I'm afraid it's on it's last legs. Hopefully it will last until Thursday when I go to pick the new car up. Good thing I worked overtime last Saturday, as I need $180 to get the title, plates renewed and transferd, and the sales tax. I can cover that... won't leave a whole lot from my paycheck this week though. At least I don't have any other bills that can't wait another week. I do need to pull the CD player from the old car, and the rear speakers I installed before I take it to the scrap yard. The only other items worth saving would be the 2 rear tires I put on a year ago, and the battery. Finally, I'll be able to go places more easily and not have to worry about the car blowing up on me anymore. I'm really surprised it's lasted so long. I bought it a year ago on March 1st from a friend for $100... and knew at the time it wouldn't last super long. It's an 89 Ford Escort that now has over 250,000 miles on it, and has hardly any oil pressure. It's only got to get me to work the rest of the week and then can go to the great car yard in the sky. It's served well though for the past year, got me to St. Louis several times, Tennessee and back to Illinois, not to mention countless other smaller trips.

In other news, trying to start to organize a couple of furry events. First, I'd like to have a furry picnic at Starved Rock State Park near me in June or July, and have any interested furs come out for a day of fun. I can offer crash space to a few here if needed also. And then, I'd like to organize a furry and fursuit outing to Wildlife Prarie State Park some time this spring. As some of you may know, it's a really neat park near Peoria, IL that has foxes, wolves, coyotes, bears, otters, and many other native wild animals in natural enclosures. Quasi, TigerPaw and I went there last year and they loved us in our fursuits. Hope to get a largish bunch together for that.

Now, with the new car coming, I'll be able to visit my friends a lot more easily, so if someone wants to see me, let me know and I'll try to arrange a visit this year. LAFF softball and bowling, here I come!
