My con report for MFM
Sep. 6th, 2002 05:49 pmSorry for taking so long to get around to this.. PCD and such has been eating at me lately. Anyway, let me start by saying, It was great!
Kodiak picked me up last Wednesday around 5PM. We loaded all my stuff into his car and headed out. Stopped for batteries and ice, and hit the road to St. Louis. Got to Tyger Cowboy's place around 8PM or so. Introduced Kodiak to TC, Spike, BJButtons, and a couple of other furs that I didn't know. InnerWolf and Kodian showed up shortly afterward. My first time meeting them also. Kodiak and I then went out to Chris's to have dinner and returned to TC's around 10PM or so. Chatted a bit and hit the sack. Was awoken by a couple of the doggies at 5AM, followed by a tummytickle from TC. We all got ready and hit the road at 6AM, after being joined by RC and Hikaru, and Spike's parents. We made our way south... stopping for breakfast and discovering that RC's truck was overheating... We slowed down some... finally he had to drop back further.. the rest of the caravan kept going. Finally got to Memphis... and let me tell you.. the traffic there SUCKS! Kodiak and I were almost creamed by a semi twice... I was so glad to finally pull into the hotel parking lot.
We entered what would be our home for the next 4 days... and immediately saw Rama, Tahamaki, Tim, and a few others. I met my roommate, OldFreek, and we were lucky enough to get a room right away. Unloaded my stuff and got settled into the room, put on my tail, and ran down to the staff meeting. Met all my fellow staff members, and got to work. Ended up helping Rama with registration stuff, along with Kodiak, Cutter, Tim, and J. Kougar. Actually, that was fun, even with the mixup over the sponsor shirts. Afterwards, wandered a bit, meeting other arrivals. Somehow, managed to miss dinner, and had TC bring Rama and myself McDonalds. Scarfed that down and then helped Rama and Quasi get registration set up. Other than a few minor issues, it went smoothly. Spent most of the evening helping in registration, as my video room equipment wouldn't show up until Friday. Also, after registration closed, spent the evening in the lobby, talking with friends and meeting new furs. Gave my sketchbook to Tremaine. He did two neat sketches for me.
